Tommy Tuberville on Lindsey Graham’s Final Moments

Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville shared insights into the last moments of Lindsey Graham’s life. Graham, a longtime South Carolina GOP senator, passed away on Saturday at 71. Tuberville mentioned a call from Graham reporting chest pains.

Tuberville, from Alabama, recounted that Graham contacted his scheduler about the discomfort. When asked if he had called emergency services, Graham replied, “No, that’s the reason I called you.”

“Lindsey called … basically said, ‘Listen, I’m having chest pains. You know, I need to do something,’” Tuberville said.

Reports indicated that emergency responders went to a Washington, D.C., location for Graham around 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday. This followed a report of someone experiencing chest pains. According to Graham’s office, he died from a “brief and sudden illness,” identified as an aortic dissection linked to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Graham was in the midst of a reelection campaign, which he seemed poised to win. He had just returned from Ukraine, and had recently discussed the “SAVE America Act” with President Trump.

Tuberville commented on Graham’s dedication, noting his relentless work schedule despite lacking family obligations. “He didn’t have any family,” Tuberville said about Graham finding time off by traveling to address national matters.

Missouri Senator Josh Hawley highlighted concerns regarding the possibility of foul play in Graham’s death. Appearing on Fox News, Hawley urged for an exhaustive investigation, citing Graham’s many international adversaries and his staunch positions against Putin and Iran. “I absolutely think there should be a full toxicology report, autopsy, the whole thing,” Hawley stated.

While emphasizing he didn’t want to support conspiracies, he stressed the necessity of discovering the truth for Graham’s constituents and the American public.

Graham’s demise coincided with the 84-year-old Republican Senator Mitch McConnell’s stay at a rehabilitation facility following a prolonged hospitalization.

Lindsey Graham’s Sister Appointed as Interim Senator

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster appointed Graham’s sister, Darline Graham Nordone, to serve as the interim U.S. senator. Her term lasts until the next Congress convenes in January. This move occurred after President Trump favored her appointment as a “fabulous tribute” to Graham.

Darline Nordone, though lacking prior elected experience, was close to her brother. After their parents’ deaths during her teen years, Graham became her guardian, raising her through the years.

Despite Nordone’s temporary role, South Carolina voters will elect a senator this November to complete Graham’s term.
