Women’s Health Risks Under Current Administration

The Trump administration has worsened an already grim situation for women’s health. Currently, women in the United States face higher risks of dying from preventable causes compared to any other developed nation. Additionally, the country’s maternal mortality rates rank among the highest globally, with Black women experiencing even more severe outcomes.

Despite these challenges, the National Institutes for Health (NIH) continues to reduce grants meant to address disparities by race, sex, or gender. They even restrict the use of crucial terms like “women” and “diversity” in funding proposals.
