Their renewed connection in Pittsburgh inspired Rodgers to return for one final season, citing the opportunity to complete his career where upgrades to the team’s offense might end a playoff victory drought.

“It’s surreal,” Rodgers commented after the team’s voluntary organized activities. He described several ‘pinch me’ moments, highlighting his return.

McCarthy isn’t the only familiar face Rodgers encountered in Pittsburgh. Several coaches who worked with Rodgers in Green Bay are now part of the Steelers’ staff, creating a reunion atmosphere.
