Seattle Firefighters Tackle Major Warehouse Fires

Firefighters in Seattle faced a significant challenge early Wednesday morning when a large fire broke out in the city’s Industrial District. This incident occurred approximately 24 hours after another blaze in the nearby Central District.

The fire erupted just before 1 a.m. local time in the 4500 block of 7th Avenue S. It involved two tractor trailers and spread to a commercial warehouse. According to Seattle Fire spokesperson David Cuerpo, officials discovered multiple large metal and plastic barrels inside one of the trailers and around the building, prompting them to fight the fire from a safe distance. Cuerpo assured the public that the barrels were found to be empty after inspection.

The Seattle Fire Department received numerous 911 calls on the morning of July 15, 2026, reporting the warehouse fire. Firefighters noted that the warehouse roof partially collapsed around 1:15 a.m., which hindered their ability to enter the building. They successfully extinguished the fire by 3:22 a.m., and fortunately, there were no reported injuries. An investigation into the fire’s cause is ongoing.

Just a day earlier, another fire occurred in a commercial building located about 20 minutes away on the 2700 block of E Madison St. in the Central District. This fire started around 3:22 a.m. and was extinguished by approximately 5:30 a.m.

David Cuerpo confirmed in a Wednesday morning press conference that there were no injuries from the second fire, and its cause was deemed accidental.
