Retired Math Professor Charged in Wife’s Shooting Death in Virginia

A retired math professor has been charged following the fatal shooting of his wife, who was an airline meteorologist. Authorities responded to an incident in Fair Oaks, Virginia, where they discovered 60-year-old Chisen Jameson with gunshot wounds. Before the shooting, she managed to call 911, and gunfire sounds were reportedly captured during the call, as noted by FOX 5.

Leland Jameson, 64, faces charges of second-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. He previously worked as a professor at George Mason University and holds a Ph.D. from Brown University.

“Leland Jameson placed his own 911 call, stating a domestic dispute with his wife, uncertain of her injuries,” according to officials.

Police found multiple firearms within the residence. Chisen Jameson worked as a meteorologist for All Nippon Airways (ANA) at Dulles Airport. The airline publicly expressed devastation over her passing, highlighting her importance to their team.

An ANA spokesperson stated, “We are heartbroken by the loss of our colleague. She was a valued member of our team, and her passing has deeply affected everyone who knew and worked with her.”

The couple has two adult sons residing in Northern Virginia.
