A survivor of the Nova music festival attack has criticized Zohran Mamdani’s video labeling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a “war criminal.” Mazal Tazazo, the survivor, responded to New York City’s mayor’s remarks, calling them “dangerous.” Tazazo spoke in a video shared by radio host Jason Rantz, following Mamdani’s statement that Netanyahu was “the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people.”
In his message, Mamdani expressed agreement with the International Criminal Court’s position on Netanyahu, calling for his arrest if he visits New York City for the U.N. General Assembly. Mamdani claimed that Netanyahu should be arrested and tried for various alleged crimes.
“I was shocked when I saw that video. It’s so dangerous,” Tazazo stated. “What’s happening there is not genocide. People died. Yes, this is a war. It’s very sad. But why? Because the terrorists hide behind their people,” she added, referencing the Israel Defense Forces’ claims about Hamas using civilian buildings for military purposes.
If you want to really understand what’s going on, come to Israel. I’m Mazal Tazazo, a survivor of the Nova. You can come to Israel, hear my story, and understand the situation.
Rantz mentioned on X that Tazazo had strongly criticized Mamdani for his comments about arresting Netanyahu.
Mamdani, in his video, stated that his administration explored legal options for arresting Netanyahu in New York City but concluded they lacked independent authority. He urged the federal government to support the ICC’s warrant. Mamdani detailed allegations against Netanyahu, accusing him of responsibility for deaths, the maiming of children, and blocking humanitarian aid.
