Joy Behar Causes Stir with Anson Mount Kiss on ‘The View’

During a lively episode of ‘The View,’ co-host Joy Behar surprised her colleagues and the audience by kissing actor Anson Mount. This unexpected moment occurred when Mount greeted the hosts, walking towards their table after being introduced by Whoopi Goldberg.

As Mount approached, Behar greeted him with a kiss on the lips, leaving her co-hosts, including Sunny Hostin, amused and surprised. The incident sparked laughter among the panel, with Hostin even pointing at the pair.

“You know something? I’m old, but I’m not dead,” Behar humorously remarked after Mount took a seat.

Mount, in response, quipped back to Behar’s comment, “That’s good, Joy, because I am.” Behar fondly recalled a previous visit from Mount when he brought her flowers on her birthday, jokingly noting that things have never been the same since.

During the show’s ‘Behind the Table’ podcast, Behar discussed the moment with producer Brian Teta, saying she felt like joking about Mount’s name all morning and reacted impulsively when he appeared on set.

Behar admitted that her husband, Steve Janowitz, texted her urging to “Cut that out,” showing a humorous side to the entire interaction.

Mount, known for his role in ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,’ also shared his excitement about his acting journey, reminiscing about his childhood dreams of space exploration from his hometown of White Bluff, Tennessee.

The episode also tackled serious topics. Co-hosts addressed current hearings at the Smithsonian Institution. Hostin argued that Republican efforts were aimed at reshaping historical narratives, speculating a reluctance to acknowledge reparations for Black Americans.

Hostin emphasized the lack of truth and reconciliation efforts concerning slavery, saying, “You cannot have true reconciliation, and then you cannot have true financial repair unless you have the truth. And they’re trying to erase that truth.”
