Senator Lindsey Graham consistently championed the US-Israel alliance, a relationship ambassador Mike Huckabee commends for its significant importance to Americans. Huckabee highlights that threats to Israel equate to threats to the United States, citing Iranian proxies as a potential danger. This partnership is grounded in shared Judeo-Christian values.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to visit Washington, D.C., next week to engage with President Donald Trump and honor the memory of the late Senator Graham. Netanyahu’s office announced that he will depart Israel on Monday, meeting Trump the following day. Celebrations of Graham’s ‘life and legacy’ in Washington, D.C. are scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 28, and continue in South Carolina on Wednesday, July 29.
Netanyahu referred to Graham as a “dear friend” in an online post, emphasizing their recent discussions. “Lindsey is a great friend of Israel and a cherished friend of mine. We have no better friend than Lindsey,” Netanyahu stated. He reiterated that the security of Israel and America are intertwined, and commended Graham’s dedication to defending American interests, fortifying alliances, and advocating for global freedom.
Netanyahu reflected on the loss due to Graham’s passing, noting, “Israel has lost one of its greatest friends. America has lost a great patriot. I have lost a beloved friend.” The collaboration between the US and Israel includes joint military operations, such as Operation Epic Fury and Operation Roaring Lion, against Iranian threats launched on February 28.
Recent weeks have seen the U.S. Central Command executing airstrikes targeting Iranian military positions. Simultaneously, the Israeli Defense Forces have actively responded to provocations from Hezbollah, an Iran-supported group in Lebanon.
Netanyahu’s admiration for the late Senator Graham is echoed through their mutual commitment to security and alliance-building. Click here for more information.
