Coping with Extreme Heat in Cairo

The summer temperatures in Cairo have been exceptionally high. My father, residing in Cairo, described this summer’s heat as relentless. When asked about the specific temperature, he mentioned 39 degrees Celsius. Curious, I converted this to Fahrenheit, which amounts to 102 degrees. Looking ahead, the forecast predicts temperatures could reach as high as 106 degrees next week.

Reflecting on the 1990s, I recall spending my school vacations with my dad. During those times, air conditioners were not as common as they are today. Despite the heat, I managed to get through the summer months. Now, in the era of extreme temperatures, I find myself questioning how Egyptians are adapting to these challenging conditions.
