The Passing of Memphis Grizzlies Forward Brandon Clarke
The fiancée of former Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke shared a poignant message following the 29-year-old’s passing. Clarke was discovered deceased inside his home near Los Angeles, with reports indicating the presence of drug paraphernalia at the scene. First responders declared him dead on-site.
Amber Lorraine, Clarke’s fiancée, expressed her grief on Instagram, sharing images of them together. She described him as ‘the most special person, with the biggest heart’ and mentioned their planned marriage. ‘This world isn’t the same without you,’ she added.
The Grizzlies, having announced Clarke’s death, issued a statement expressing their sorrow. They emphasized his importance as a teammate and person, highlighting his impact on the organization and Memphis community.
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Brandon Clarke. Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten.”
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver also commented on the loss, noting Clarke’s passion and leadership as a Grizzlies member.
“We are devastated to learn of the passing of Brandon Clarke. As one of the longest-tenured members of the Grizzlies, Brandon was a beloved teammate and leader who played the game with enormous passion and grit.”
Clarke faced legal issues earlier in the year, having been arrested in Arkansas on multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance and trafficking. He was due in court last week.
