Issues with Evidence in Lindsay Shiver Case

Accused of conspiring with her lover in the Bahamas to hire a hitman for her ex-NFL player husband, Lindsay Shiver’s prosecution may face hurdles. Her lawyer claims evidence problems could hinder justice. Bahamian authorities, lacking jurisdiction, pursue charges based on supposed actions taken while Shiver was in the United States.

Lindsay Shiver, a Georgia mom and former beauty queen, faces charges from the Bahamian Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Her attorney, Craig Shirley, denies the allegations, asserting Shiver’s innocence. He told Fox News Digital that the DPP cannot prove Shiver was in the Bahamas on July 16, 2023, where the alleged conspiracy happened.

Shirley emphasized that Shiver’s defense provided proof of her presence in the U.S. on the mentioned date. He pointed out the jurisdictional error, stressing that Shiver cannot be charged under Bahamian law for actions allegedly committed outside of the Bahamas.

“Lindsay cannot be prosecuted under the Bahamian Penal Code for an alleged act committed at a time when the undisputed evidence establishes that she was not in The Bahamas,” Shirley stated.

The criminal plot came to light during an unrelated investigation by Bahamian police. While examining a suspect’s phone during a break-in case, police found WhatsApp messages. These included photos of Robert Shiver and alleged instructions from Lindsay Shiver to “Kill him.” Defense argues these messages were misinterpreted.

Along with her lover Adrien Bethel and alleged hitman Faron Newbold Jr., Shiver was arrested in July 2023. They face conspiracy to commit murder charges in the Bahamas, though they pleaded not guilty.

Shirley expressed dismay over Bahamian authorities’ continued prosecution efforts. He expected that legal authorities would drop charges due to the evidence’s legal inconclusiveness.

Fox News sought comments from Bahamian prosecutors and Robert Shiver’s lawyer. Shiver and her associates maintain their innocence, and the case continues to prompt legal examination and public attention.
