North Carolina Reforms Civil Service Laws for Improved Workforce Management

North Carolina has recently reformed its civil service laws to streamline the hiring and firing process, aiming to attract top talent and efficiently address underperformance among employees.

While similar reforms appear challenging at the federal level, North Carolina achieved bipartisan support at the state level. Democratic Governor Josh Stein signed the legislation, which was passed unanimously by the Republican-controlled legislature.
