The Closure of UAA’s Testing Center: Impact and Reflections

The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Testing Center’s permanent closure wasn’t announced in a press release or at a community meeting. I discovered it on a calm summer afternoon when my 14-year-old son went to take a test for college credit. Seeing a young person take initiative and pursue early academic achievements highlights what is possible with accessible, supportive local infrastructure.
