Zelenskyy Discusses War Dynamics with Fox News
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with Fox News about the ongoing conflict with Russia, saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin has lost the initiative in the war. In a conversation with Sean Hannity, Zelenskyy highlighted Ukraine’s advances in military technology, which have altered the battlefield.
Following the funeral of late Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Zelenskyy acknowledged Graham’s unwavering support for Ukraine. The Ukrainian leader stressed the importance of a robust military tech industry, stating, “We have built a strong military technology sector with 500 companies developing advanced technologies.”
We recognize that this war is evolving every few months. We need to be faster than Putin, as he has more manpower. We rely on technology to protect our people.
Zelenskyy noted Ukraine’s ability to conduct strikes deep into Russian territory, disrupting operations in areas like Russian-occupied Crimea. This increased capability, according to Zelenskyy, has tilted the balance away from Moscow.
Putin, on his part, expressed optimism that the conflict would conclude soon. However, Zelenskyy revealed that despite ongoing efforts to negotiate a ceasefire, Putin has shown no interest in dialogue, having last communicated with him in 2020.
During the interview, Zelenskyy also reflected on Graham’s early and substantial support for Ukraine. He shared, “Graham visited Ukraine numerous times during the war, even venturing near front lines. He was aware of our situation and supported us greatly.”
Zelenskyy praised The Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, which imposes significant sanctions on those aiding Russia’s war efforts. The Senate passed this legislation in a bipartisan vote.
Earlier the same day, Zelenskyy met with President Donald Trump at the White House. They discussed defense cooperation, including licenses for Ukraine to produce American patriot missiles.
Trump, commenting on social media, expressed satisfaction with the meeting, stating that it “went very well.”
