Concerns of Authoritarianism in Pandemic Response

Soviet-born author and political analyst Michael Malice has raised concerns about America’s pandemic response, likening it to Soviet informant tactics. On the “Planet Tyrus” podcast, Malice argued that authoritarian regimes depend not only on military force, but also on civilian participation.

Malice stated, “During COVID, Americans first noticed the nature of evil. People were reporting their neighbors, and some even bragged about it.” He also mentioned how individuals were pleased to see others, such as cashiers, lose their jobs due to reports. “That was very Soviet,” he noted.

Dr. Anthony Fauci testifying before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee highlighted ongoing criticism of pandemic handling. His diary entries exposed private acknowledgment of lockdowns despite public denial.

Malice, author of “The White Pill,” outlined tactics from the Soviet era, comparing them to the pandemic response. Recent criticism surfaced after Dr. Fauci appeared before Congress, with many questioning the lockdown strategies.

Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right 111 times, dodging questions on self-incrimination. Republicans and conservative commentators criticized the prolonged shutdowns and repercussions for those who bypassed restrictions. Rep. Lance Gooden commented that drastic measures, like filling skate parks with sand, should not be forgotten.

Fauci defended his actions, claiming motives behind his congressional appearance were to undermine him, potentially leading to jail time.

Malice emphasized that dictatorial regimes often use local enforcement rather than overt villainy. He cited petty bureaucrats and citizen involvement as agents of control, describing such practices as “alien to the American psyche.” He believes many individuals cling to power, enforcing controls firmly.
