As of Sunday morning, officials have reported that over 600 structures have been destroyed by raging wildfires in Spokane, Washington. Authorities anticipate this number will rise.
Evacuations were prompted on Saturday when flames threatened approximately 5,000 residences in Spokane’s northern area.
Firefighters are actively battling three separate wildfires in the region. Benjamin Cossel, from the federal management team, noted the ongoing assessments to determine the extent of the damage.
The current situation does not specify how many of the damaged structures were residential or commercial. The efforts to control the fire and evaluate the loss continue.
