James Carville Objects to Far-Left Influence in Democratic Party

Democratic strategist James Carville stated he would exit the Democratic Party if Hasan Piker, a far-left streamer, becomes a major voice within it. Carville expressed his viewpoint on “The Sunday Briefing,” emphasizing his unwillingness to be part of the same political party as Piker. “If he becomes a force in a Democratic Party, I’m out of here,” Carville declared.

Hasan Piker, a self-proclaimed socialist streamer, has supported Democratic Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed and gained prominence among democratic socialists. They are making advancements in elections nationwide.

Piker’s past statements have drawn attention. In 2019, he sparked controversy by remarking “America deserved 9/11” during a stream, later clarifying that he did not mean it literally, arguing it was a critique of U.S. foreign policy.

Carville told Fox News, “Hasan Piker and James Carville are not going to be in the same political party. One of us is going to leave. It might even be me.” Piker recently supported Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., as his preferred candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028, predicting no Democratic nominee will align with Israel in any form due to declining support among Democrats.

The Democratic National Committee (DNC), led by Chair Ken Martin, faces internal issues, including significant debt. Carville noted the DNC must address its challenges but added he “can’t help them.”

Recently, numerous candidates endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America achieved success in their primaries, contributing to the ongoing debate within the Democratic Party about its future ideological course.

Carville commented on the pressures facing the two-party system, stating, “It may be that the two-party system is just going to be under tremendous stress here in the coming months.” He also criticized far-left candidates for their perceived unpopularity, warning they are harming the party’s image.
