Sports have been a significant part of my life. As a child, I participated in cross-country running and played basketball under my father’s coaching. Volleyball eventually captured my heart, especially the role of setter. The sport taught me essential lessons: willpower, loyalty, discipline, and resilience.
However, my greatest memory is the sheer joy it brought me. My dedication influenced my college choice, but a severe injury ended my sports career. Despite this, I was never destined to become a collegiate star. I attended a small school and stood at my maximum height of 5 feet. My passion for the game made up for my physical limitations. Overcoming setbacks fueled my competitive spirit.
Even after my sports career ended, the friendships and character I gained stayed with me. Now, as I enter different professional arenas, I carry the determination I learned from women’s athletics.
