Jesse Watters Criticizes Scott Pelley’s Remarks

Jesse Watters called Scott Pelley a ‘drama queen’ on ‘Jesse Watters Primetime’ after Pelley compared his firing from CBS to the murder of a spouse. Watters highlighted a perceived lack of self-awareness in Pelley’s remarks about media bias.

Recently appointed ’60 Minutes’ executive producer Nick Bilton seeks to quell press leaks about internal drama, which he claims are mostly false. In a Monday staff memo acquired by Fox News Digital, Bilton stated that almost all rumors about the program are inaccurate and emphasized channeling energy into storytelling.

‘If you hear something and it matters to you, come ask me and I’ll tell you what I know. Otherwise, I’d like this place to be talked about for what we put on television,’ Bilton stated.

Bilton also aims to manage the fallout from staffing changes this past May, as reported by Status News. His memo included logistical updates for the show’s 59th season, like office locations and upcoming lunch meetings, noting a shift to a digital storyboard system for ’60 Minutes.’ Bilton expressed there is no justification for using outdated methods like dry erase markers in such a major news show.

Moreover, Bilton addressed employee questions regarding office attendance, mentioning that he trusts the professionalism of staff, who should be in the office when not on assignments. CBS News did not provide an immediate comment to Fox News Digital.

Bilton was chosen by CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss amid an extensive overhaul of ’60 Minutes.’ During his appointment, predecessor Tanya Simon and correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Cecilia Vega were dismissed. Scott Pelley, a veteran correspondent, was also removed after expressing discontent with Bilton and Weiss.

Recently, Bilton announced the addition of Norah O’Donnell and New York Times columnist Ross Douthat as ’60 Minutes’ correspondents. The program also welcomed contributors like Sebastian Junger, former Vice News correspondent Gianna Toboni, and Trevor Phillips, a previous Sky News presenter now serving as CBS News’ senior global affairs correspondent.
