Dallas Wings’ Downtown Relocation Plans

The Dallas Wings will transition to a new home in downtown Dallas next season. They will share the American Airlines Center with the NBA’s Mavericks for their entire home game schedule.

This move, announced by Wings officials on Monday, is expected to be temporary. The WNBA team signed a 15-year agreement in 2024 with the city of Dallas to play at a renovated Dallas Memorial Auditorium, accommodating around 10,000 seats. However, construction delays at this site, located a few blocks from the AAC, have postponed this plan.

Greg Bibb, the Dallas Wings CEO and managing partner, stated, “Today’s announcement marks a pivotal step in the team’s relocation to Dallas as well as our continued growth as a professional sports enterprise.”

In April, the team is also slated to move into a new $55 million training center, under construction in a Dallas neighborhood. The Wings have been located in North Texas since before the 2016 season, playing at the University of Texas at Arlington’s College Park Center. This venue, which can hold 6,251 people, is about 20 miles from downtown.

The Wings played two regular-season games at the AAC in 2025. They recently secured a victory over the Chicago Sky there last month and still have two more games scheduled at this venue for the current season.
