Las Vegas Aces’ Game Halted Due to Fan Incident

During the third quarter of Thursday night’s game between the Las Vegas Aces and the Indiana Fever, a disturbance in the stands caught the attention of players and officials. Jackie Young of the Aces had to point out two men to a referee, leading to a brief halt in play with 4:38 remaining in the quarter.

Initially, security escorted a woman from her front-row seat across from the Aces’ bench. She returned shortly after. It was then that two men seated nearby were taken out through the tunnel by security. Young explained the situation after the Aces secured an 86-84 overtime victory. She mentioned that one of the men had been making inappropriate comments throughout the game but had crossed a line at one point.

“He was just chirping all game… I let him have it, and then he just made one that was a little bit too far,” Young remarked after the game.

When pressed for details about the comments, Young preferred to keep them private.

Following the incident, a statement revealed that the Fever found no breach of the Fan Code of Conduct. Security determined there was no violation, and the fan chose to leave voluntarily. “We consider the matter closed,” an official statement read.

The fan incident briefly overshadowed what was an exciting basketball game. Chelsea Gray hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to push the game into overtime and another to seal the victory for the Aces, ending the game at 86-84 in favor of Las Vegas.

Young ended the game with 22 points, nine assists, four rebounds, and five fouls. After the win, she emphasized the importance of respecting players during games.

“They did the right thing. Obviously, we don’t want to see fans get kicked out, but at the end of the day, we’re human too. So let’s just show up to games, have fun and not take it too far,” Young stated postgame.
