Mountain Lion Sighting in San Dimas Sparks Street Closure

A mountain lion resting under a tree on a sidewalk in San Dimas led to the closure of a street on Friday. Wildlife officials are working to capture the animal.

The incident occurred on Foothill Boulevard between San Dimas Avenue and San Dimas Canyon Road. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station announced on Instagram around 8 a.m. that they had received reports of a mountain lion in the area.

Residents were urged to avoid the location and secure pets and outdoor food sources that might attract the puma. The public was advised to stay alert, including runners and pedestrians.

Cort Klopping, a public information officer with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, confirmed that the agency was responding to the reports.
