Israel Maintains Operations in Gaza Amid Ceasefire Disputes

Israel has continued military operations in the Gaza Strip, despite a ceasefire agreed upon last October. The Israeli military retains control over significant areas of Gaza.

On July 28, U.S. President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. During this meeting, Israel rejected a 15-point peace plan for Gaza proposed by President Trump’s Peace Board. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated on Sunday that Israel would not withdraw until Hamas completely disarms.

President Trump previously announced a breakthrough in efforts to end the conflict, referencing an agreement reached by both Israel and Hamas last year. This agreement began with a ceasefire. However, Israel has continued airstrikes in Gaza since the October ceasefire came into effect.

Hamas, which administered Gaza for almost 20 years, carried out an attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, sparking the Gaza war. Despite recent developments, Trump noted that Hamas has committed to disarming.
