Angel Reese, the standout forward for the Atlanta Dream, is quietly achieving an exceptional season in the WNBA. Despite limited attention compared to other stories, Reese is setting records on the court. On Monday night, the Dream, now 20-12 for the season, comfortably defeated the Toronto Tempo, who stand at 10-22.
In this game, Reese contributed significantly with 20 points, hitting 50% of her shots, and grabbed 14 rebounds. With these stats, she achieved her 22nd double-double of the 2026 season, surpassing the Atlanta Dream’s previous record for double-doubles in a single season.
She IS the Double-Diva,the Dream announced on X, noting Reese’s historic performance.
Reese’s record-breaking season is a testament to her great form and skill, with the Dream still having 12 games left in the regular season. This gives her more chances to enhance her record further. Having achieved a double-double in five out of her last six games, Reese aims to break Alyssa Thomas’ WNBA record for most double-doubles in a single season.
Currently, Reese is averaging 15.8 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Her average of 11.9 rebounds per game leads the entire league. If she maintains this standing, it will mark her third consecutive WNBA season as the top rebounder.
Despite these achievements, Reese has emphasized her primary ambition since being traded from the Chicago Sky to the Dream in April. Her goal is to win a championship, not personal accolades. With the Dream’s strong record, they are poised for the playoffs, giving Reese her first playoff experience since being drafted as the seventh overall pick in 2024.
Looking ahead, the Dream will face the Connecticut Sun on the road on Thursday, followed by a home game against the Indiana Fever on Sunday.
