The Indiana Fever secured a 106-92 win against the New York Liberty, led by Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark. Mitchell scored 20 of her 28 points in the first half, while Clark contributed 22 points and 10 assists.
Indiana has won seven of its last nine games. The team showed impressive shooting with a 59% field goal percentage and 79% from three-point range. At halftime, they led 64-46.
Despite a pregame incident involving Coach Stephanie White, the team remained focused. They didn’t let a double-digit lead slip, a previous issue against Las Vegas.
Mitchell was effective, shooting 11 of 16 from the field, with four three-pointers. Clark and Sophie Cunningham also made four three-pointers each. Cunningham scored 12 points, while Aliyah Boston added 19 points and seven rebounds.
For the Liberty, Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu each scored 19 points. Jonquel Jones added 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Fever’s 15-7 run near the end of the second quarter extended their lead to 54-37. New York tried to close the gap in the third quarter, reducing the lead to 66-57. However, Indiana responded strongly with Mitchell’s three-point play and Cunningham’s three-pointer, ending the quarter at 87-67.
Indiana maintained control through the final period, ensuring the Liberty couldn’t close the gap.
