He expressed satisfaction with his play on Friedl’s bunt and fist-pumped after striking out Michael Toglia to finish the seventh inning, marking the end of a successful 104-pitch performance. Eager to pitch another inning, Castillo embraced the chance to finish perfectly by striking out the final three batters.
Rookie Hagen Smith contributed by striking out three batters in the eighth inning, having only allowed a walk, while Huascar Brazobán shut down the ninth inning after granting one hit. This victory positions the Sox first in the American League Central with a 62-57 record, leading the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers.
