Ms. Rachel Advocates for Reparations and Political Causes

Children’s YouTuber Ms. Rachel, also known as Rachel Accurso, expressed support for reparations in a recent Instagram post. She quoted Ta-Nehisi Coates’ 2014 essay “The Case for Reparations,” highlighting America’s need to address its slavery history.

The quote shared read, “Two hundred fifty years of slavery. Ninety years of Jim Crow. Sixty years of separate but equal. Thirty-five years of racist housing policy. Until we reckon with our compounding moral debts, America will never be whole.” This highlights Coates’ argument that America must reconcile with its past beyond financial compensation.

Rachel appeared on the “TODAY” show on September 24, 2024. Fox News Digital contacted Accurso and Coates for comments but received no immediate response.

The Case for Reparations

Coates’ essay suggests American prosperity stems from injustices of the past, arguing for a national reckoning and spiritual renewal. He emphasized that reparations mean more than financial redress. They signify an end to ignoring the issues of heritage and misconceptions of patriotism.

Recently, Accurso’s social media posts have been increasingly political. She endorsed several Democratic candidates, such as Cori Bush and Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. She opined about race being a factor in the investigation of Nolan Wells’ death, arguing that the outcome would differ if racial roles were reversed.

Dave Aronberg, former Palm Beach County State Attorney, criticized Accurso for her commentary on the investigation, accusing her of fostering division. He also accused her of spreading “toxic, antisemitic rhetoric” on the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Rachel Griffin Accurso, branded as Ms. Rachel, has actively championed progressive causes lately. She stated her political intentions in efforts to shut down an ICE facility. Her advocacy encourages national conversations on divisive issues.
