Riley Green Ventures Into Acting with Help from Luke Grimes

Riley Green, known for his rising status in country music, recently ventured into acting. This new career path gained momentum with assistance from a friend, actor Luke Grimes.

During an appearance on “CBS Mornings,” the 37-year-old from Alabama explained how Grimes encouraged him to take up an acting role. Grimes, famous for his role in “Yellowstone,” aided Green in securing a part in the CBS drama “Marshals.” In this show, Green portrays Garrett, a former Navy SEAL grappling with PTSD.

“It happened so naturally because Luke was starting his music career and visiting Nashville. We collaborated on songwriting,” Green said.

Grimes suggested acting to Green, which led to him auditioning for a role. A few months later, Green was cast, leading him to fly to Utah to film the show.

Green acknowledged the rarity of such an opportunity. “It’s not every day the star of a show sits in with someone auditioning,” he told USA Today. His friendship with Grimes made the acting transition smoother, especially given his background in music performance.

Though accustomed to performing on stage, Green found acting more challenging. During the “Marshals” premiere, he shared with Fox News Digital that acting is a different world. While performing live has become second nature for him, acting presented unfamiliar territory.

Green’s journey into the entertainment world began unexpectedly. Before his musical breakthrough, he worked in construction, framing houses until signing a record deal in 2018.

Reflecting on his career, Green mentioned, “I’ve been fortunate that success came gradually. Ten years into this, I’m motivated to keep going.” Despite fame, he remains grounded, living on a farm in Alabama rather than moving to Nashville.

Green’s music career began with the Big Machine Label Group in 2018. His song “There Was This Girl,” along with hits like “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” and “Different ‘Round Here,” solidified his place in country music. He values the connection with fans, opting for live shows over industry accolades.

Renowned for his country music success, Green has stayed true to his roots, preferring the simplicity of farm life over Hollywood glitz.
