Buffalo Bills Address Issues with New Stadium Design

The Buffalo Bills recently faced widespread online criticism regarding their new $2.2 billion stadium. Social media users highlighted issues with the stadium’s sightlines using photographic evidence. In response, the team released a statement defending the design and provided further explanations.

In a conference call with reporters, the club’s chief operating officer, Pete Guelli, and vice president of stadium development, John Polka, addressed these concerns. Guelli noted, “So far, we’ve heard from less than one percent of our PSL holders about anything sightline related.” He assured reporters that any reported problems would be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

“If anybody feels otherwise, we’re taking this on a case-by-case basis, and we’ll address any concerns that they have,” Guelli stated.

Social media criticisms included obstructed views and poor rain coverage during a recent practice session. Guelli explained that obstructed seating is a common issue in stadiums. He mentioned options like creating different designs or placing seats that might be obstructed for football but useful for other events like concerts.

Aside from sightlines, fans also reported blocked views due to vendors and other attendees during practice. The team plans to manage this issue by instructing vendors and fans to wait until play is paused before moving around during games.

Additionally, complaints about the video boards were noted. Reports stated that the club owner, Terry Pegula, prioritized investing in the speaker system over enlarging video boards. As the stadium continues to evolve, adjustments in game presentation and content usage on the scoreboards are being considered.

Vice president of stadium development, John Polka, commented, “We’re learning a lot about the building, and that includes game presentation.” He emphasized comfort with the current design choices.
