They’ve been incredible to me for a long time. But more than anything, I’m thankful for this group of women and the men on our staff. I’m thankful we can all lift each other up when we need to be, and they’ve been lifting me up. I’m happy about that.”

Kelsey Mitchell, an All-Star guard, contributed significantly with 23 points. All-Star center Aliyah Boston added 10 of her 16 points in the crucial fourth quarter. The Indiana defense, often criticized, performed well during the game, especially in the first half and final minutes.

The match against Dallas served as a potential playoff preview. Indiana’s win brought them to a prominent position, having won eight of their last ten games, ending the night in fourth place in the league. Paige Bueckers matched Clark’s score with 29 points, yet it was insufficient for a Dallas victory.

Clark commented on Bueckers’ performance, saying, “Obviously, she is an incredible player, makes it really hard on us defensively. We tried to throw a lot of different things at her. She’s so good in the mid-range. I felt like we had a few miscommunications, especially in that third-quarter spurt where she was completely wide open. That’s on our group to figure it out.”
