Von Miller Joins Dallas Cowboys for 15th NFL Season
Von Miller, an eight-time Pro Bowler and a two-time Super Bowl champion, is joining the Dallas Cowboys for his 15th NFL season. The veteran linebacker announced his move to the Cowboys, although the details of the contract were not disclosed.
Miller shared the news on social media, expressing excitement with a message, “Dallas! Let’s make this one Special!” along with a photo of himself in a Cowboys uniform.
Demarcus Ware, a Cowboys legend, also posted a screenshot of a FaceTime call with Miller, showing both smiling. Ware and Miller shared success during their time with the Denver Broncos, winning Super Bowl 50 together.
Last season, Miller played for the Washington Commanders, achieving nine sacks and 26 tackles over 17 games with the team. This year, Miller will face his former team, the Commanders, and other NFC East rivals as part of the Cowboys.
Miller is a likely future Hall of Fame inductee, recognized as a top defensive end. With two first-team All-Pro honors, he ranks ninth all-time in career sacks alongside Ware with 138.5.

This move is significant for Miller, a native of DeSoto, Texas. After excelling at DeSoto High School and gaining national attention at Texas A&M, Miller was drafted by the Broncos in 2011. Now, as he returns to the Dallas area, he is not far from his hometown.
The Cowboys aim to bolster their defense with Miller’s addition, especially after trading away Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Last season, the Cowboys struggled defensively, ranking in the bottom third with only 31 sacks and allowing 30.1 points per game.
This offseason, the Cowboys have focused on strengthening their defense. They acquired outside linebacker Rashan Gary, defensive end Otito Ogbonnia, and linebacker Dee Winters. Additionally, they used first-round draft picks on defensive players Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence.
With Christian Parker as the new defensive coordinator, the Cowboys hope to improve defensively while maintaining their impressive offensive performance from last year. Miller’s homecoming could energize his performance with the Cowboys.
