Damage to the grass on the National Mall has been reported following events this summer. The affected area spans between the Washington Monument and the World War II Memorial, a location where President Donald Trump had earlier set up a large stage for his Fourth of July speech to the public.

Similar damage was observed at the White House Ellipse and South Lawn. These areas were used during the UFC Freedom 250 events, leading to concerns about the impact on the grounds.

President Trump addressed the issue on Sunday through Truth Social. He alleged that vandals were responsible for harming the grass on the National Mall, suggesting deliberate damage. The damage was documented by a photograph taken on August 7.
