Arrest Warrant Issued for Former Green Party Candidate Jill Stein

Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Dr. Jill Stein, a former presidential candidate for the Green Party. This follows her failure to appear in court for a hearing related to an assault charge from 2024.

The hearing took place on Monday at 9 a.m., but neither Stein nor her lawyer attended. Prosecutors were present, however.

Judge Karma Johnson of St. Louis stated, ‘There will be a failure to appear warrant for Ms. Stein,’ according to St. Louis Magazine.

The charges originated from a protest at Washington University in April 2024 against the war in Gaza. During the protest, police made over 100 arrests, but only Stein and one other person faced charges. In March 2025, Stein was charged with misdemeanors for assault and trespassing.

Newsweek has attempted to contact Stein via email for her comments, despite it being outside regular business hours. The situation is ongoing, and further updates are expected.
