Ohio Couple Arrested After Alleged Cruise Ship Cabin Assault

An Ohio couple was arrested when they allegedly forced their way into a family’s cruise ship cabin, attacking two adults and a child. This incident followed requests to quiet down, according to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey.

Gannon Jacox, 29, and Brooklyn Hicks, 28, are the individuals arrested after the ship returned to Port Canaveral, Florida. Sheriff Ivey noted that the couple had been arguing loudly after drinking and were confronted by one of the victims who requested them to quiet down.

Authorities stated that Brooklyn Hicks was charged with burglary with battery and battery-touch/strike. She, along with Jacox, allegedly forced their way into the victim family’s cabin, where a 9-year-old child was present.

Altercation in the Cabin
Jacox reportedly began recording the incident while encouraging Hicks to attack. The couple then pushed into the cabin, according to Sheriff Ivey.

As the fight progressed, Jacox hit all three victims, including the child, while Hicks swung her fists wildly, attempting to land a punch, Ivey detailed in a Facebook post.

Jacox faces charges of burglary with battery and child abuse without great bodily harm. Meanwhile, Hicks was charged with additional offenses. None of the victims sustained serious injuries.

Ship Details and Warnings
Authorities have not revealed which cruise ship was involved. Four ships docked at Port Canaveral on Saturday, including vessels from Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruise Line, and Carnival Cruise Line.

Sheriff Ivey used this incident as a cautionary tale for cruise passengers regarding excessive alcohol consumption. If you cannot handle your alcohol, you should not be in public causing harm to others, Ivey warned.

Furthermore, Ivey advised those who might not heed this warning to avoid visiting Brevard County.
