Chicago police reported a fatal shooting incident on the West Side, in the Garfield Park neighborhood, occurring late Wednesday morning. A 25-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman lost their lives in the attack.
Authorities stated the man was standing in the 200 block of South Pulaski Road shortly before noon when an unidentified individual approached and opened fire. The young man sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported him to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was declared deceased.
Nearby, in the 300 block of South Pulaski Road, officers found a 64-year-old woman unresponsive. She had a gunshot wound to her chest. She was also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where medical personnel pronounced her dead.
The suspect, according to police, escaped the scene heading south on Pulaski Road in a black sedan. Detectives are actively investigating this tragic event.
