Motorcyclist Killed in Accident on DuSable Lake Shore Drive
A tragic accident occurred late Wednesday night resulting in the death of a 49-year-old motorcyclist. Chicago police reported the incident happened on DuSable Lake Shore Drive.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., the motorcyclist was heading southbound in the 400 block of South Lake Shore Drive within the Loop neighborhood when a gray sedan, traveling in the same direction, struck her. Police confirmed this detail after an initial investigation.
Emergency responders transported the injured motorcyclist to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The driver of the sedan, a 25-year-old, did not sustain any injuries from the crash. Authorities took the individual into custody at the scene to facilitate further inquiries.
The Major Accident Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation to determine the cause and circumstances of the crash.
