U.S. Army Helicopter Makes Unplanned Landing in Colorado
A U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter made an unexpected landing in the Colorado foothills, west of Denver, on Tuesday. The helicopter, from Fort Campbell in Kentucky, landed in a wooded area near Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
The Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that four individuals were on board. Initial reports from two Army officials indicated no injuries occurred. An Army spokesperson described the event as an “aviation mishap” during a training exercise.
The helicopter is part of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment stationed at Fort Campbell. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Army released a statement acknowledging the mishap. It highlighted the importance of safety and stated that a safety investigation is active. Further information has been withheld for now.
