Miles Sanders Faces DUI Charges in Pennsylvania
Miles Sanders, a former Pro Bowl running back, was arrested for driving under the influence in June. This incident took place in Churchill Borough, Pennsylvania, as per court documents. Sanders, who last played for the Dallas Cowboys in 2025, entered a guilty plea for driving an unregistered vehicle and parking illegally in a restricted area, as shown in online records.
Details of the Incident
A preliminary hearing is set for September 23 on charges of careless driving and DUI. According to a criminal complaint obtained by CBS News, Sanders was discovered slumped in the driver’s seat of his Lexus on William Penn Highway. Officers noted he was unresponsive and had difficulty answering questions.
Police reports state Sanders appeared lethargic and inconsistently conscious, with signs of alcohol on his breath and glossy eyes. Additionally, marijuana was reportedly found in the vehicle. A portable breath test indicated a positive result for alcohol.
Sanders’ Career and Background
Born in Pittsburgh, Sanders honed his skills at Penn State before being drafted in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. After four seasons with the Eagles, Sanders signed a four-year, $25 million contract with the Carolina Panthers. He was released midway due to injuries and performance issues.
Sanders later joined the Dallas Cowboys on a one-year deal, playing only four games before suffering season-ending knee and ankle injuries. Since then, he has been a free agent and has not returned to the field.
Over his career, Sanders amassed 4,462 rushing yards, 24 rushing touchdowns, and completed 183 catches for 1,274 yards and four receiving touchdowns. His peak season was in 2022 when he achieved Pro Bowl honors with 1,269 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.
