District Attorney David L. Lasee charged Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs with two domestic misdemeanors, citing a surveillance video as evidence. The video allegedly captured a physical altercation between Jacobs and his ex-girlfriend in his garage.
Initial police investigations at the scene of the alleged battery expanded into further inquiries. Lasee confirmed the discovery of a security camera in Jacobs’ garage, where the incident reportedly occurred.
Incident Details
According to the incident report, the player’s ex-girlfriend, referred to as ANM, stated she was trying to exit the garage when Jacobs allegedly grabbed her, threw her to the ground, and took her phone. The report noted ANM’s injury occurred during this altercation.
“Jacobs then took her phone from her while she was on the ground,” the report reads. “ANM laid on the ground for a while and then struggled to walk back into the house.”
The video reportedly supports ANM’s account, showing both individuals arriving and leaving the residence in their respective vehicles.
Surveillance Evidence
The surveillance footage from May 23, 2026, records the events as described by ANM. It also captures Jacobs taking ANM’s phone and returning shortly after with apparent damage to the device. This video currently remains unavailable for independent review, but it will play a crucial role in the ongoing case against Jacobs.
Legal Consequences
Following these developments, Jacobs faces charges including misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property. He surrendered to authorities on May 26, three days after the alleged incident. Despite public scrutiny, Jacobs’s legal team expects vindication for him.
If the video accusations hold, Jacobs’s NFL career could face jeopardy. The NFL has faced similar situations, notably ending Ray Rice’s career in 2014 following the release of damaging surveillance footage.
The Green Bay Packers, aware of Jacobs’s charges, stated, “We will continue to cooperate with the NFL as we work through the process. We will have no further comment at this time.” The NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy investigation continues, with potential disciplinary actions pending.
