Albino Whitetail Deer Captured on Video

One of the most exceptional videos features a rare albino whitetail deer in Wisconsin. This footage, shared by Instagram user @joelord_wi, captures the deer gracefully running across a road. Albino deer are often called the “Ghosts of the Forest” due to their rarity and are safeguarded in Wisconsin.

Joelord_wi shared his excitement: “Well I hope this was a good omen for fishing this week in the Wisconsin Northwoods. Can’t explain what it was like getting so close to such a majestic Unicorn! Wild Wisconsin, albino whitetail.”

In Wisconsin, albino deer are a rare sight, with estimates suggesting only one in every 30,000 white-tailed deer births results in albinism. Seeing one in the wild is a unique experience, making the footage even more precious.

A personal note mentions only having seen an albino deer once in a lifetime, underscoring the rarity of such sightings. In regions like Dyrehaven, Copenhagen, a deer park that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, albino deer are more common due to the absence of natural predators.
