Chevron has announced an ambitious initiative to significantly increase its crude oil production in Venezuela. On Wednesday, the company confirmed its intentions to double production within five years. This move is part of an effort to remain competitive as the Trump administration establishes a major oil partnership in the region with a key local competitor.
Chevron revealed it reached multiple agreements in Venezuela to enhance its operations. The company aims to boost production to 600,000 barrels per day. This volume equates to approximately half of the total oil exports currently coming from Venezuela.
Significantly, Chevron plans to invest $7 billion in this project. This investment underscores Chevron’s commitment to expanding its presence in the Venezuelan oil market amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
