Two police officers suffered gunshot wounds on Wednesday following a shooting in downtown Minneapolis, officials reported. The incident involved multiple victims, as confirmed by city authorities.
The injured officers were shot in the shin and abdomen, sources revealed to Fox News. The current status of their conditions remains uncertain.
Sources indicated that the suspected shooter is incapacitated. The shooting prompted a significant response from law enforcement.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz stated, “My public safety team is responding to a shooting that took place downtown Minneapolis this afternoon.” He assured that state officials are providing support to local law enforcement and promised to share further details as they emerge.
In another message, Governor Walz expressed gratitude to law enforcement for “working to ensure the safety of our neighbors” in the affected area, adding, “Minnesota is praying for our first responders.”
Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) based in St. Paul were also dispatched to the scene.
