Andrew Tate faces serious criminal charges in Romania. Reports indicate he has been indicted for trafficking minors, money laundering, and sexual offenses.
The Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism in Romania detailed these allegations on Friday. They include the alleged exploitation of a minor, moved from Romania to Luton, UK, for sexual exploitation and pornography.
Tristan Tate, Andrew’s brother, also faces charges. He is accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice and being complicit in these activities. Although the Romanian authorities have not named the Tate brothers directly, they mentioned an investigation into two British men of the same family, aged 39 and 38.
Romania’s national news agency, Agerpres, and local press have identified these individuals as Andrew and Tristan Tate, who hold dual citizenship in the U.S. and the UK.
Eugen Vidineac, a Romanian lawyer for the Tates, stated their intention to scrutinize the indictment thoroughly. He emphasized the challenges they plan to pose to evidential, procedural, or legal aspects through the judicial system.
Currently, the Tate brothers remain jailed in the U.S. while awaiting a judge’s decision regarding their extradition to Britain to face rape charges. They were arrested by U.S. Marshals in Miami in July.
The Tates have previously denied any wrongdoing in both UK and Romanian legal proceedings. According to their lawyer, Joseph McBride, the brothers maintain their innocence. He expressed confidence that a competent judge and the Department of Justice would eventually vindicate them.
McBride pointedly stated, “America does not do Britain’s political dirty work.”
This is an unfolding situation. Further updates are expected.
