Delayed Opening of Pentagon Memorial Education Center
The Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia remains unique among the three 9/11 sites in the United States, as it is the only location without a dedicated museum or visitor center. Plans for a visitor education center here have been in progress for over ten years.
The intentions to establish this center were first introduced in 2015. The aim was for its inauguration to occur by the year 2019. Nonetheless, delays have persisted, leaving this part of the memorial without its envisioned educational facilities.
The original purpose of the center was to further educate visitors about the events and implications of September 11, enhancing the experience at the memorial through informative exhibits and resources. The continuous postponement has been a significant concern for both officials and visitors.
