Mount Carmel Defeats Marist 56-26
Mount Carmel’s junior tight end Ty Kennedy emerged as a key player, catching four passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns. The Caravan secured a 56-26 victory over Marist in a Catholic League Blue game. Quarterback Brady Cloherty completed 18 out of 33 passes for 295 yards, contributing five touchdowns. In the final eight minutes, Mount Carmel scored 28 points, pulling away from Marist, who had narrowed the score to 28-20.
Homewood-Flossmoor Overcomes Sandburg 35-13

Griffin Russell led Lockport with 221 passing yards and three touchdowns, along with a rushing touchdown. The Porters secured a 38-15 victory in the SouthWest Suburban Conference against previously unbeaten Lincoln-Way West. Russell connected with Andrew Maloney, Donavan Gray, and Jaxson Little for touchdowns. Prince Nartey added a 54-yard touchdown run.
Jacobs Secures Win Against Burlington Central 31-27
Aiden Brunner scored two touchdowns in the second half, including the game-winning play with only 1.8 seconds remaining. Jacobs overcame a 17-point deficit for a 31-27 victory in the Fox Valley Conference. Brunner finished with 38 yards on 11 carries. Quarterback Austin Stennett completed 19 of 31 passes for 263 yards, connecting with Owen Crouch and others for crucial plays.
Naperville North Edges Out Naperville Central 21-14
Jayke Collins delivered an outstanding performance with 25 rushes for 136 yards and three touchdowns, leading Naperville North to a 21-14 win over Naperville Central. A capacity crowd of 6,000 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium witnessed Collins’ dynamic play in the DuPage Valley Conference opener.
Zion-Benton Tops Stevenson 42-23
Kevin James scored two touchdown receptions, supporting Jamere French’s impressive 297-yard rushing and four touchdowns. Zion-Benton defeated Stevenson 42-23 in the North Suburban Conference. Marquan Gordon was pivotal with his touchdown passes that supported the team’s dominant performance.
Prospect Beats Fremd 35-21
Senior safety Caden Moran was crucial for Prospect, making three interceptions. Two interceptions in the end zone stopped Fremd drives. Moran’s third interception led to a decisive touchdown, helping the Knights secure a 35-21 victory in the Mid-Suburban League game against Fremd.
Montini Wins Over Nazareth
Quarterback Israel Abrams threw for 412 yards and four touchdowns for Montini. His 33-yard touchdown pass to Damacio Ortegon with 34 seconds left sealed the win. Abrams also ran for three touchdowns himself. Despite a strong performance from Nazareth’s JJ Chapman, who threw for 301 yards, Montini achieved a critical victory.
