Man Killed in West Pullman After Altercation

A tragic incident occurred in the West Pullman neighborhood where a 33-year-old man lost his life after a verbal exchange turned physical. Authorities reported that the man sustained a gunshot wound to the chest in the 11500 block of South Halsted Avenue at approximately 4:30 p.m. This followed a disagreement with a group of individuals, according to the Chicago police.
The victim was transported to Roseland Community Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead. He was identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Davion L. Jackson from Chicago’s Chicago Lawn neighborhood. An autopsy has been scheduled to take place on Sunday.
At the moment, police have not reported any details regarding the shooter. Investigations are ongoing, led by detectives from the Calumet Area.
