Riot Fest has announced a delay in the opening of Day 3 on Sunday due to adverse weather conditions. The gates are now expected to open at 2 p.m. This adjustment stems from the overnight rains and the need to address the wet conditions of the park grounds, according to a social media post by the festival.
As of now, the schedule for the day’s events remains to be updated. On the previous day, the festival experienced an early closure on Saturday, initially announced in the afternoon. This change led to either shortened or canceled performances, with the band Tool taking the headlining slot at 6 p.m. before the festival ended at 7 p.m.
The National Weather Service has forecasted rain for Chicago to persist at least until 2 p.m., with chances of precipitation continuing until 7 p.m.
Overall, Riot Fest had a mild start on Day 1, with performances including the legendary punk musician, Iggy Pop. The events over the weekend included Phoebe Bridgers’ arena concerts, notable for their moments of quiet intensity.
