NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani to Meet President Trump at Gracie Mansion

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani will have a meeting with President Donald Trump at Gracie Mansion on Monday. This meeting is set to address various issues impacting New York City and its residents, as confirmed by the mayor’s office. Gracie Mansion, serving as the official residence of the city’s mayor, will be the venue for this important discussion.

The primary focus of their conversation will revolve around challenges faced by America’s largest city. This sit-down marks their third in-person meeting, with previous encounters occurring in November 2025 following Mamdani’s election victory and again in February. Details regarding the timing of Monday’s meeting have not yet been disclosed, and there was no immediate response from the White House to requests for further information.

This meeting coincides with New York City’s preparations for the United Nations General Assembly, an event that welcomes global leaders each September. It also aligns with the concluding weeks of the campaign for November’s midterm elections.

Mayor Mamdani has gained recognition as a prominent progressive figure, with support from progressive Democrats and candidates endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America. Their successes in recent primaries have stirred discussion concerning the future direction of the Democratic Party.

Housing affordability has become a central theme of Mamdani’s administration, with commitments to reduce New York’s skyrocketing housing costs. In their first Oval Office meeting back in November, Trump and Mamdani were able to discuss housing and affordability among other New Yorker concerns, despite their differing political stances. Both leaders expressed a willingness to collaborate where possible.

Monday’s meeting presents an opportunity for continued dialogue on these pivotal topics, promising an exchange of ideas that could potentially benefit the residents of New York City.
