Jack Osbourne shared insights into raising five children, emphasizing that he and his wife, Aree Osbourne, have chosen to parent without a nanny. Speaking with People magazine at an Emmy nominees event in Los Angeles, Jack explained, “We don’t do the nanny thing. I thought it was going to be way gnarlier than it is, but you find a rhythm.”
Aree, a stay-at-home mom, and Jack are parents to daughters Maple, 4, and Ozzy Matilda, 6 months. Jack also has three children with his ex-wife, Lisa Stelly: Pearl, 14, Andy, 11, and Minnie, 8.
The couple recently celebrated Maple’s first day of preschool. Jack posted a photo of Maple with her baby sister, humorously calling Ozzy Matilda her “emotional support squad.” Despite his upbringing in a famous rock music family, Jack applies a more structured approach to parenting than his parents, Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne, did. “I’m a little more structured with my kids than my parents were with me,” he told People magazine. “I won’t take them out of school just to go travel. Structure is healthy.”
Jack and Aree welcomed their youngest daughter in March, naming her Ozzy Matilda in honor of Jack’s late father, who passed away in July. Jack managed to share the news of Aree’s pregnancy with Ozzy before his death. In a December interview with The Sun, Jack expressed how the pregnancy provided hope during a time of grief. “It’s been partly a healthy distraction, partly healing,” he said. “It’s very much taken energy out of the grieving side of things and parked in hopefulness.”
Jack’s sister, Kelly Osbourne, has also discussed the family’s mourning process. In an interview with Hello!, Kelly discussed cruel comments she faced about her appearance during this period. “I didn’t navigate it — I wasn’t well,” Kelly explained. She emphasized the importance of mental and physical healing, stating, “You’ve got to fix the head before you can fix the body. It’s a slow process.”
Jack has faced public commentary about his appearance as well. He responded on Instagram to articles body-shaming him for being “grossly underweight.” Jack clarified, “I have lost no weight since I got out of the jungle doing ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ six months ago. The only difference is I shaved my beard and opted for a mustache.” He also highlighted his history of being “brutalized by the press” about weight, stating that criticism persisted despite reaching a healthy weight.
