Star Meat Delivery Inc. Issues Recall for Over 167,000 Pounds of Meat
Star Meat Delivery Inc. is recalling approximately 167,639 pounds of raw beef, pork, and goat meat. The recall was initiated due to the absence of federal inspection, according to an alert from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) dated Tuesday.
The recall is classified as Class I, meaning that there is a reasonable probability that using the product could lead to severe health consequences or death. Products with an ‘EST. 1363’ label should be deemed unsafe to consume, as per the alert.
The products carry a false USDA inspection mark and have been distributed under the A&D Foods label. They were sent to restaurant and retail locations nationwide.

Keith Schneider, a food safety professor at UF Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, explained that a recall indicates that the food safety system is functioning correctly. He mentioned the importance of identifying and addressing issues quickly to minimize impact.
Recent recalls have heightened attention on food safety, paralleling concerns over illnesses like salmonella and cyclospora.
